Manchester United target Michael Olise is expected to be available for less than his previously stated £60 million release clause.

Olise, 22, has emerged as one of United’s main targets after a string of impressive performances for Premier League club Crystal Palace. Furthermore, Olise’s Palace contract is thought to include a release clause that is lower than his market worth.

When it was revealed that Olise’s most recent agreement at Palace included a £60 million release clause, United fans leaped at the chance of the French attacker joining the club in the near future.

Olise’s release clause is now thought to be less than the previously stated £60 million, making it a ‘no brainer’ for Red Devils supporters.

Speaking with The United Stand, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano stated the following about Olise’s previously reported release clause:

“I believe it is less than this. I will be able to state this in the coming months, but I do not believe it is £60 or £70 million.”

Last week, it was reported that Olise would prefer to join with United over a transfer to Premier League rival Chelsea. It was also said in the same source that Olise was a United supporter since boyhood.

United are in dire need of top-tier right-wing reinforcements and are reported to be willing to approve the exits of both Jadon Sancho and Antony in order to bankroll squad additions.

Manchester United veteran Andy Cole recently told BetFred that he thinks his previous club would agree to move Antony and bring in Olise.

Cole would say that Olise was “most definitely” an upgrade over Antony, who he described as “still waiting to see what he’s good at.”

Antony produced his first competitive goal and assist over the weekend during United’s 4-2 FA Cup win against Newport County.
